Shay'tan's eyes widened, his attention being snatched away from his missing son. His jaws split in shock as he listened to the song, it was more powerful then anything he had ever heard.
The whole pack looked in the general direction, hackles raising in fake anger but real fear.
Shay'tan's feeling of suprise was quickly replaced with hatred, how dare someone step on his land and react like this. Looking at his pack, he snarled out the command to attack anything moving. The pack scattered, running around trying to find this stranger.
~~~
D'Artagnan was knocked back, body bouncing off a rock and the wind getting knocked out of him. Gasping for breath, the snow was no longer the problem.
Torve rose onto wobbly legs, he head was still spinning. Taking a deep breath, he checked out his surroundings. A small beaten path lay before him, the dense canopy blocked out the light, and a thin layer of fog rose from the moist ground. The stench here didn't bother him like it did most, didn't feel thick in his lungs. Picking his way out through the mashes, he wondered what lived here, for it was mostly silent, except for the bubbling of the swamp water or the cawing of birds. Bringing his gaze to the canopy above, he witnessed as a fawn struggled in the vines, finally taking its last breath. Other such carcasses lay entangled in the upper branches of the trees, their corpses remaining oddly preserved. Already he was like this place.
Shivering slightly, Chai began walking once more, not wanting to experience that feeling again. Something was definitly wrong, and she had a good hunch that this Trove character was the cause of her previous feeling. Without a second thought, she headed towards the mountains. Simply a feeling in her gut that she might find an explination up there.
Rex felt the blood in his body run cold, a death like apparition crossing his eyesight,"No, not again,"he mumbled, remebering how the same feeling had occured over a year ago, when most of his old pack was killed.
Two scrawny and sickly wolves, one brown and one tan, stumbled across Torve's sent. Hitting them like a wall, they stopped.
The brown one looked over at his companion, "I don't like this feeling, it seems like a force not to be rekoned with.." Fear clutched his heart, as he over-heard a creature, larger then him, walk by.
D'Artagnan's eyes settled upon Akumu's blood-thirsty ones, Shaking his head, he lept up onto his feet. That old firey feeling pumping through his veins. Intoxicating him with that addictive adreneline rush.
Akumu let out a cackling snarl, "Come on, Old man, you think you can be beat me?!"
Torve scented the others, but not like normal, this was different. He could...feel them. Turning his head in their direction, he pondered at the sensation. He could feel their warmth, their uncertainty, and their fear. Fear towards him. He fed off of their emotions, building strength. After a slight hesitation, he moved forward, smoothly and confidently. Looking from one to the other, he wondered what kind of pack this was. "I am Torve." he stated plainly, orange eyes glowing brightly. Flexing his paws, he let them feel a jolt of his power, first of pain, then he let it fade into pleasure. It was only a fraction of what he felt earlier, but perhaps it would be enough to persuade them to join him, or at least stay out of his way.
The two became like pups, defense-less against this larger and much stronger wolf. Looking up at him with their own yellow eyes, they trembled.
For once, Members of the Suriv pack were not as terrible as they seemed.
The brown one, obviously older, shook his head. Attempting to shake off his fear, looking into Torve's eyes. He growled out "Yeah? You're point i-" His voice was cut off as a feeling shot up through his legs. Almost as if lightning had shot up his legs. As soon as it hit his head, it transfered to an almost peace-full feeling.
Once it was over, he snapped out of it. The pleasure faded out along with the remainder of pain, he felt weak, his legs buckling and trembling slightly.
The tan wolf looked on in fear, waves of panic along with terror washed over his body. "W-what do you want?" he asked, the question usually drowned in attitude was now covered in raw fear.
Walking up the hill, Chai sniffed lightly not particularly enjoying the feeling that washed over her. Pain struck her, though it didn't show as she pushed on forward towards the source. Something was telling her it had to do with the newcomer, but she wasn't going to pin it down just yet. The closer she got, the stronger the feelings of grief and pain became until they finally came into sight.
Trove she recognized immediatly, who could forget those eyes, like fire coming straight at you. Just looking at him made her sick, but she refused to let it show as she stared at him from a distance.
Torve looked at the two, thoroughly enjoying himself. "What do I want?" he paused, giving them a menacing look. "I need followers. This place is ripe for the taking, all that is needed is a leader brave enough to do so. You two can either join me or die. So boys...what will it be?" he ended with a smile.
Chai winced slightly as she began walking once more in Trove's direction, wanting to know why this was happening, was he the source of the feelings of pain and suffering she felt? Making her way through the undergrowth, she was finding it increasingly difficult to push through the feelings, trying her best to keep her feelings hidden. Not in any way was she afraid of him, just the feelings that eminated from him.
He turned his head, and his smile broadened. "Well, well, look who it is. Chai, darling, a pleasure of you to join us." Turning to the others with a grin across his maw, he whispered not so lowly, "She totally digs me." Eyes flashing, he walked closer to her. "So what brings you here? It's quite romantic don't you think? The swamp water, mists, corpses in the branches almost like it was just meant to be. What do you think?" Pacing back and forth, he sensed that she wasn't afraid of him, it was infuriating. Digging his claws into the dirt, he sent tendrils of excruciating pain and misery her way.
Chai winced inside, but tried her best to keep a straight face though it was hard. "I don't know who you think you are, but no one wants you here," she remarked coldly. "No one wants the suffering or the pain you bring," she added, taking a small step backwards. The pain was becoming unbareable, like it was tearing at her very heart as she tried to stay strong.
"Aww, nobody wants me? Well, perhaps if they got to know me, I can be quiet warm." he spat, emphasizing the last word, and sent a searing heat at her. He growled lowly, eyes ablaze, as they always were when he used. Moving closer, he whispered in her ear. "It can all end, just say the word and join me."
Chai was slowly falling down to the ground, her whole body feeling like she was walking through a fire as he moved closer. As much as she wanted the pain to stop, she wasn't going to give into him, of all there was out there, he wasn't worth it to her. Slowly, despite the pain, she stood up as tall as she could, glaring at her with all of her might. "No," she replied coldly, knowing it was only going to get worse because of her answer.
"Perhaps you wouldn't be as quick to answer if you couldn't breathe?" Immediately, he closed his power around her chest. No, he wasn't going to kill her, but she was going to feel pain, the same pain he felt a long long time ago. Except when she woke up, she wouldn't remember the pain, how bad it really was, just the ghost of it, a shadow on her heart.
