"Chai," she replied simply as she continued walking. There wasn't any point in telling him he could come, he'd probably follow her anyways. Besides, if he came along she wouldn't have to break the news herself.

((Hehe, My twist is worthless now.. xD))
D'Artagnan spun around, eyes settling on the female. His eyes narrowed as he watched it, ears flattening he shook his head. "I'm loosing it.." He stated, looking back over the area.
Raeylin has zipped away, running along the ground silently with her her small paws. In a long loping gate she hurried around, slowly, the area started to die. More trees were toppled over and the plants yellow and life-less. Slowing down, she looked around, it was dead silent except for her heavy breaths and heartbeat.
Shaytan mosied around Deadwood, footsteps loud as he lethargically moved. Stepping over the malnourished bodies of his pack and bones from old meals he sighed. Kyo came bouncing along the area, jumping over a log and yipping loudly. Kyo shreiked in pain as Shaytan smacked him. "Relax..." he snarled. Kyo's big ears flattened as he looked at his Dad. Something was up, and Shaytan knew it.

Rex felt a shock go through his system, a feeling of complete and total fear running through his system, and then an unknown rage went through his system, hearing only the end of Chai's conversation,"Why, why did it have to be Sic, she never did anything wrong!"

Torve glanced at the new brute, analyzing him but was careful about keeping his expression somber, his orange optics burning. He seemed strong but naive, perhaps not the best mix. "I must find D'Artagnan." He repeated for what it seemed the hundredth time and had to stop himself from clacking his teeth irritably. Everyone was so worthless, except D'Artagnan, only he could help find what he needed.

Chai looked back at Trove, wondering if he was just daft or he didn't understand that they didn't know where D'Artagnan was. Though, instead of snapping at him she kept her thoughts to herself. Giving Rex a small glance, she continued on her way, not really wanting to talk to them to begin with. Something just wasn't right with the new brute, and though she couldn't place what bothered her about him, she knew it wasn't a feeling she was just going to ignore.

Rex leaped out of the water, getting right up to Torve,"Hey, D isn't here, we don't know where he is, and if you gotta problem with that, take it with me, otherwise, leave this terra before I have to MAKE you leave." Rex plants his paws firmly, Torve irritating him beyond common irration, making him feel like he knew more than he was telling.

Shay'tan's eyes glinted savagely, walking over the hard terrain with expert experience, he approached Raeylin.
Raeylin's tail flickered, an alarming feeling fell over.
Shay'tan came close to her, ears flattening, he gave a loud snarl from just behind her. Raeylin yelped loudly, loosing her footing and falling over. Her pointed maw snapped up, nose to nose with the very devil himself.
Shay'tan grinned at her, feeding off of the fear emitting from her like a leach. "Hello Raeylin..." he stated. Giving a devil-ish grin.
Raeylin looked up at him, taking a sharp breath after remembering to breath. She didn't let out a single sound, ignoring the stinging sensation in her side. Probably from landing on a sharp rock or dead root.

Torve raised an eyebrow, but behind his calm appearance an fire roared ablaze. "I can see how this pack takes care of its own...alpha's gone, other one dead...who knows who else is missing." he said in a snide voice. No idiotic brute was going to stop him from completing what he came here to do. "I can see now that you are just as worthless as your precious alphas."

His last comment caused Chai to jerk her head in his direction. "I do not see why you care, we can tell him all on our own, we don't need you here," she snapped defensively. Glaring at Trove, she couldn't help but think that something was amiss. True, the pack had been faltering, he was in no position to mock it.

The female's voice echoed relentlessly in his mind, D'Artagnan stopped, looking over his shoulder at the ledge of the mountain, his own lone foot-steps following him. He was probably a couple miles from the forest floor were his pack lay. A horrible feeling filled the alpha. The wind broke the silence occasionally, keeping him from going insane. D'Artagnan's eyes traveled to the forest, he could see the tops of the trees peeking out from clouds. Ears flattening, he continued down the longest trail to get out of the mountain range.
Raeylin glared at him, "There is a wolf in our territory looking for you...He thinks you know of D'Artagnan.." She retorted.
"Hah! Why would I care about D'Artagnan?" Shay'tan suggested, ears flattening irritably. One of his paws pressing against her throat.
"Maybe, because he's tough enough to rip you to shreds?" Raeylin said, voice full of attitude.
Shay'tan became silent, glaring at her, then from the direction she came from.

Keeping himself from lashing out, he looked in the direction of the mountains, his vibrate orange eyes aglow. Immediately a smile appeared across his maw. "Well, I must be off, have fun in your mundane lives...while it lasts." he added as he bounded away deeper into the forest. This didn't go exactly how he planned, damn wolves were more resistant then he calculated, but he found what he came for.

Chai snorted softly as he left, glad he had. Shaking her head, she began walking away once more to be left alone with her thoughts. The one that had taken her in and made her feel welcome was dead, the only one she had actually known and talked to. Anger corsed through her as she walked away with her head downcast.

"And once he finishes his business with D'Artagnan, I can damn near completely guarantee you that he'll come after you..." Raeylin snorted. Her sun-burst optics starting at his face that seemed to have a small sliver of fear.
Shay'tan gave a small 'humph' noise. "Let me get rid of this nuisance before he digs himself into any more trouble.." Shay'tan turned, eyes narrowing as he began barking out commands. Wolves snapped up into a standing position. Shay'tan's head darted around, "Where the hell did that wolf go? he's been missing for days..." he snarled, noticing Akumu's absence.
Raeylin jumped up onto her light paws, to her concern, she would help Shay'tan. It seemed almost as if she was betraying her own pack. However, in the pit of her stomach she felt a large event on the verge of un-raveling.
~~~
D'Artagnan shivered, his senses were becoming dull from fatigue and confusion. His ears flickered,trying to hear everything from their dull state. The wind had seriously picked up, dragging down large snow-flakes. They fell quickly, soon blanketing the area in fresh snow that reached the middle of his fore-legs. Squinting into the wind, he only got a glimpse of the tan body.
Ears twitching he raced deeper through the forest, trees streaming by him in a green blur. Suddenly he skidded to a halt, and lifted his paw to the sky. The scent caught his attention. It was musty and rank, coming from the direction where a group of darker trees were scattered. Interesting. Approaching with caution, he looked from from side to side along the great wall of trees. It formed an invisible barrier it seemed, stretching for miles in either direction. Cautiously, Torve placed a paw into the woods. The ground felt warm under his pads and sent a pleasant sensation up through his body. It was almost as if the land sang its song to him, an evil song, vibrating his body. Looking to the skies, eyes glowing stronger then ever, he cried out. His song poured from his body, the song of Hell. Behind him he could feel the forest flinch, and scream as if trying to escape. Birds fell from the sky, rabbits died in their holes, their souls racing back to him. The power felt magnificent, it was ecstasy. He growled with pleasure, his head swam making it impossible to stand, his breath came out in short gasps. Whatever just happened, he would make sure to do it again.
Stopping, Chai felt a sudden rush of dread sweep over herself. Almost as if she was being forced to regret something, but hadn't a clue what she had done wrong. Whinning softly, her eyes scanned her surroundings quickly, wondering what had just happened. As soon as the feeling had begun, it had stopped.
